CYCLING: VO2, ok but don’t forget LT!

We often focus, almost exclusively, on the values ​​of VO2 max or power output to evaluate the cycling performance.

On the other hand, with the VO2 tests organized in the end of this season for pro or national cyclists that I train, we can see that there are great disparities in performance on the road for cyclists with equivalent VO2 max.!!

Indeed, 2 other markers are to be observed: the power at the 2 lactate thresholds which may change according to the type of training and the athlete's profile (domestic, TT specialist or sprinter).

And this is true for all endurance sports!
